Ever been in a situation where;

  1. You just dont feel like standing up in the morning to attend to your responsibilities?
  2. Your bones ache so much you dont feel like getting out of the bed.
  3. The thought of driving all the way or worse taking bus and okada to that place of work , or to deliver a service to a client, just sinks your heart.
  4. You remember suddenly that you are out of groceries or food in your house and you are wondering.. Cant everyone just drink “Garri” today?, so that I can stretch my legs and do just nothing 😄

But what then do we do? Do we fold our hands and sleep? Right in the middle of our thoughts, we start to think of our lives, our future and those of our loved ones. We remember our bank account balance as it dey enter red...🥵🥵🥵
We think of the ebi (hunger) that will fire us if we dont get up. We dont have a choice than to just show up, whether we feel like it or not.

This is also what God expects us to do when it comes to him and his activities.
Sometimes we feel great in God’s presence, we feel the warmth of the Holy Spirit embrace us. Sometimes, we find ourselves crying for no reason in Gods presence.

His presence can be so overwhelming…..

But what about the days, you find it hard to concentrate in his presence. Just two mins in, and all that comes to your mind, is the email you need to send at work or the meal to cook for the night. You try so hard to be focused to no avail. Other times you simply doze off.
…Did you just doze off on God?😅😅

Ever been in a situation where you just dont feel like praying? You are so tired and weary, you are not interested in going to church or reading the bible.

But then what do we do? Take a break?

Just the way we cant afford to give up in our everyday lives, so also we cant also afford to give up on God.

You dont feel like praying….Just lay on your face and tell God, today I am not in the mood, but I have come to SHOW UP..
As we continue this, God in his infinite mercy will continue to renew our strength and meet us where we are.

Whatever you do, However you feel, DO NOT give up on God.

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” ( Mat 11: 28-30, MSG)
