Infertility was something I had to manage in the first years of marriage. One mindset I had while waiting was to plan for little. When my spouse and I were house searching, I thought it was better we get a small house since it was just the two of us.
One day, the Holy Spirit whispered to me.
“Your plans are not tallying with your request. When the children come, which room will they stay?”
It was then I began to stretch my faith to prepare for what I had not yet seen. I learnt to trust God first with my plans, to accommodate His gifts.
Are you waiting for the rains before you start planting?
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1, NIV)
