Why Can't I Pray to God Quietly?

After all, he is all-knowing

This was the question my son asked me one morning while I prayed intensely for the healing of his sprained arm. When I asked him why his “Amen” wasn’t audible, he responded that he thought the right thing was to pray to God quietly.

After all, he is our father and already knows what we need. Why scream?

So, I asked him, “If you were walking home from school one day and suddenly realize, that a lion broke loose from a nearby zoo, and it is charging towards you. Will you pray in your mind, or scream out loud?

He smiled…

He understood already what I was driving at.

While we both agree that praying quietly is not a bad idea, situations may arise that will require us to pray out more loudly and intensely.

Whichever way, God hears!

With my voice, I was crying to the LORD, And He answered me from His holy mountain (Psalms 3:4, AMP)
