I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth. (Psalm 121:1–2, KJV) While “looking down” is often associated with shame and rejection, “looking up” can portray courage and hope. When we fall into temptations or let others down, it is easy to find ourselves in a state of constant guilt that never goes away, even when we genuinely repent. Constantly staying in this state could lead to more damaging outcomes, i.e., low self-esteem, inability to connect in prayers and sometimes depression.
